August State Alumni Member of the Month: Mochamad "Roni" Zamroni - Indonesia
The State Alumni Member of the Month for August 2009 is Mochamad "Roni" Zamroni. A 2008 International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) alumnus, Zamroni is an environmental activist in Indonesia who founded Tunas Hijau ("Green Buds"), an environmental non-governmental organization. His contributions have led to his receipt of several awards from local, national and international organizations. On Wednesday, August 5, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. EDT (14:00 - 15:00 GMT), Dr. Craig Shapiro, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Liaison to the U.S. Department of State, Office of International Health and Biodefense, joined the State Alumni community for a Q&A Live discussion on the new H1N1 influenza.
Dr. Shapiro welcomed your questions on H1N1 influenza and covered issues that included what H1N1 is and how it is spread; where the virus came from; the difference between H1N1 and other influenza viruses; how concerned we should all be; what should be expected from it in the future; ways in which you can protect yourself from H1N1 influenza; and many other topics. You Can Network on State Alumni Too!
New functionality on the State Alumni website now makes it easier for you to interact with alumni through the site. Department personnel and guest users (such as employees of partner agencies or commissions) now have the option of having public profiles that are searchable by site users. Previously, the Find Fellow Alumni Tool, which is available to all verified users, only allowed searches for alumni and hosts on the site.
We encourage you to review your account settings on your profile to designate your public or private account status. The settings will determine the visibility of your profile to other users (control who sees your email address, photos, network, etc.). Next, reach out to alumni you know through the site. Alumni coordinators around the world have been successful at engaging alumni through the site by inviting them to join their networks or sending messages through the site.

PAS Guatemala City Engages Alumni, Educational Advisor, and BNCs in Recruitment Project
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala - The Guatemalan Highlands Alumni Recruitment Project is a collaborative project among alumni of various exchange programs, Guatemala's EducationUSA office, and PAS Guatemala City. Throughout the project alumni, embassy staff, and the Educational Advisor have travelled to traditionally underserved communities to discuss educational and exchange opportunities in the United States. During the seminars, often held at local bi-national centers (BNCs), alumni speak about their experiences in the United States, adding a personal element to the informational sessions. Post reports that the alumni presentations have been the highlight of the seminars. The aim of the project is to boost recruitment numbers, particularly among indigenous populations, as a result of additional information and personal contact with alumni of USG exchange programs.

Internships
One of programs which we support is internships. As a volunteer student organization, which has connections with various companies all over the world, we are promoting the possibility of internships in those countries.
Types of internship
There are four basic types of exchange you can go: Development, education, management and technical traineeship. All of them have their own specialties but we will gladly give the possibility to choose.
Limitations
As a student, university alumni or present worker in Kyrgyzstan, all know about limitations of internships in different programs. However, AIESEC is able to match internships to all people, so there should not be any worries about amount of internships.

The Position
As a RepRisk Analyst you will analyze and enter news from NGOs, the internet, print and other media into ECOFACT’s web- based tool RepRisk (www.reprisk.com). RepRisk provides insights on environmental and social issues that present financial and reputational risks. RepRisk enables commercial and investment bankers, asset managers, and supply chain managers to control risks and to implement effective screening procedures.
Your responsibilities as a RepRisk Analyst include:
- Creating abstracts of news related to social and environmental issues.
- Identifying and assessing the corresponding issues.
- Entering newly criticized companies, projects, etc. into the RepRisk database.
- Linking the news to already entered database entities. The position is immediately available.
- You are a native or native equivalent English speaker. Knowledge of other languages would be an advantage (particularly interesting are Russian, Portuguese, Spanish, French or German).
- You have editorial skills.
- You are very reliable and meet the high quality standards of a premium product.
- You have a strong interest in environmental and social questions.
