SUMMARY OF POSITION

IREX seeks a Regional Coordinator to coordinate all aspects of the potential youth program in Kyrgyzstan to ensure successful program implementation. The Regional Coordinator will have responsibility for meeting program objectives, coordinating with partner organizations, and conducting financial oversight. The program will provide opportunities for constructive activity and dialogue among youth in Kyrgyzstan, train young people in computer and business skills for increased employability, and create sustainable computer and internet capacity in schools and libraries that will continue to be oriented towards youth and educational programming. The position will be based full-time in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. This position is contingent upon funding.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Stay informed of all program activities and report information to Country Director;
·         Take an oversight role in managing major aspects of program activities to ensure professionalism and consistency from program partners, helping to solve problems as needed;
·         Review and provide feedback on monthly reports (goals and news) prepared by program partners before they go to Country Director.
·         Monitor the workload of program partners, helping them understand priorities and volunteering to assist in management when necessary;
·         Travel to resolve major issues for the program;
·         Complete expense reports in IREX's specified format and per USG regulations;
·         Work on sustainability issues with participating schools and libraries
·         Maintain relations with program partners and government agencies;
·         Conduct trainings on Information Communication Technology to program partners;
·         Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Ÿ            BA in International Studies, Computer Science or related field;
  • Ÿ           Strong English language skills and fluency in Kyrgyz, knowledge of Uzbek and Russian a plus;
  • Ÿ           Strong computer (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Web 2.0) and writing skills;
  • Ÿ           Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills;
  • Ÿ           Ability to work independently and skilled at handling multiple tasks;
  • Ÿ           Experience with project design and program management.
