1. 2011-2012 GLOBAL UNDERGRADUATE EXCHANGE PROGRAM IN EURASIA AND CENTRAL ASIA (UGRAD) ANNOUNCEMENT
The Government of the United States of America is pleased to announce the 2011-2012 Global Undergraduate Exchange Program in Eurasia and Central Asia (UGRAD). The deadline to submit the application for this program is January 14, 2011.
The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program in Eurasia and Central Asia (formerly the Eurasian Undergraduate Exchange Program), a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State, provides opportunities for first-, second-, and third-year undergraduate students from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan for one year of full-time, non-degree study in the United States. The Eligible fields include Accounting Agriculture, Anthropology, Biology, Business, Chemistry, Computer science, Criminal justice, Economics, Education, Engineering, Environmental management, Geology, Hospitality Management, International Relations, Journalism, Law, Mass Communications, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Urban planning, US Studies etc.
The fellowship provides:
· J-1 visa support;
· Round-trip travel from fellow’s home city to host institution in the United States;
· Accident and sickness insurance;
· Tuition and mandatory university fees;
· Room and board (housing and meals);
· Small incidentals allowance;
· Limited allowance for books;
· A wide variety of alumni networking and training opportunities

2. СТАРТ ПРОЕКТА «АНГЛИЙСКИЙ ЯЗЫК ДЛЯ СПЕЦИАЛЬНЫХ ЦЕЛЕЙ И АНГЛИЙСКИЙ ЯЗЫК ДЛЯ АКАДЕМИЧЕСКИХ ЦЕЛЕЙ» ДЛЯ ПРЕПОДАВАТЕЛЕЙ ВУЗОВ КЫРГЫЗСТАНА
Общественный фонд «Школа Английского языка - Лингва» и Американский Университет в Центральной Азии при поддержке Посольства США в Кыргызской Республике приступают к реализации Проекта «Английский Язык для Специальных Целей и Английский Язык для Академических Целей» для преподавателей вузов Кыргызстана.
Основными целями проекта являются повышение квалификации вузовских преподавателей, улучшение качества преподавания и усовершенствование знания английского языка преподавателями-предметниками, планирующими в будущем обучение своего предмета на английском языке. Тренинги для разных групп преподавателей будут проводиться в течение 3-х лет. Тренинги будут вестись на английском языке тренерами, носителями языка, а также преподавателями-методистами из Кыргызстана.
Целью курса «English for Specific Purposes/ESP (Английский Язык для Специальных Целей) является обучение коммуникативным методам преподавания, специфике обучения ESP, а также улучшение знания английского языка.
Целью курса «English for Academic Purposes/EAP» (Английский Язык для Академических Целей) является обучение навыкам академического письма и чтения, конспектирования, изложения, научного исследования, анализа, обоснования и аргументирования.
Первый тренинг в рамках данного проекта состоится с 4 января по 20 января. Место и время проведения тренингов будет сообщено дополнительно. (Согласно предварительной информации, тренинги будут проводиться на базе школы «Лингва» или в здании АУЦА; время занятий - с 09.00 до 12.00 (первый поток/первая смена) и с 14.00 до 17.00. (второй поток/вторая смена).
Данный тренинг будет вестись тренерами, имеющими международную сертификацию от Школы Международного тренинга (School for International Training/SIT, Vermont, USA), Рональд Брэдли и Эллен Брэдли.
Отбор для участия в тренингах будет проводиться на конкурсной основе. В конкурсе могут принять участие преподаватели вузов (преподаватели-предметники, планирующие обучение своего предмета на английском языке, а также преподаватели английского языка).

3. СТИПЕНДИЯ ИМЕНИ ДЖОНА СМИТА 2011
Мемориальный фонд Джона Смита и British Council при поддержке Министерства юстиции Великобритании приглашают молодых лидеров Кыргызстана принять участие в стипендиальной программе имени Джона Смита.
«Идеальный» кандидат должен быть в возрасте от 25 до 40 лет, владеть устным и письменным английским языком, работать в политических структурах, местной администрации, СМИ или в области искусства и гражданско-правового общества, обладать послужным списком, подтверждающим заинтересованность в эффективном госуправлении и проведении демократических реформ.
Программа рассчитана на 4 недели пребывания в Великобритании (с 10 июня по 8 июля 2011г.) и включает в себя семинары, стажировку и рабочие визиты.

4. DEKEYSER&FRIENDS FELLOWSHIP
Being a Fellow is not primarily about benefiting from a specific education, a skill or a study program. Being a Fellow offers you the space for inspiring thoughts and experiences, time to find out what can happen if you believe in yourself, have a fantastic team and work hard and with joy.
Fellows do of course learn specific skills. They will be taught and benefit from their hands-on experiences. More importantly, however, every project tries to give Fellows the space to think about their dreams, receive positive feedback and feel inspired to think independently about their life.
Reasons for wanting to become a Fellow are thus manifold: do you want to learn a particular skill? Are you just curious about life and the project? Do you want to spend time with the project Friend? Do you want to be together with young people from around the world? All these reasons are legitimate. Becoming a Fellow is about remaining curious, about trying to seek inspiration and positive feedback under exceptional circumstances.
Do you think about the impact your dreams and ideas could have on the society you live in? Are you curious? Would you like to benefit from the exchange with an experienced personality? Are you motivated to engage in a challenging multi-cultural project and be in exchange with young people from all around the world? Are you between 18-28 years old?
Then you should apply! If you are accepted, you will be awarded a Fellowship that covers the tuition costs of the program, transport to and from the project, as well as room and board. Our selection criteria are:
Age
Our projects are for young people between 18 and 28 (21 for US projects). This means that on the first day of the project you must be at least 18 (or 21) years old and no older than 28. If you are younger than 18 (or 21) when you apply you will have to supply a permission sheet by your parent or legal guardians.
Motivation
Dekeyser&Friends projects are for young people from all around the world who are eager to engage with other young people from different cultures and an experienced personality in a goal-oriented project. They are for people with dreams, ideas and hopes and the motivation to think about the future.
Previous Experience
Everyone can apply. The most important thing for us is not what you already know or have done in the past, what universities you have gone to or where you have worked. What really counts is that you show us that you really want to participate and that you want to use the experience for your future development.
What does the Fellowship include?
Dekeyser&Friends Fellowships include all tuition and project related costs as well as full board (three meals per day) and accommodation for the project duration in shared single sex rooms. The Fellowship also includes transport to and from the Project, meaning the flight from your home country to project country and transport from the airport to project site. It is your responsibility to get to the airport and back home in your home country.
Dekeyser&Friends will arrange and pay for transportation from your nearest major airport to the project and back. We will also pick you up at the airport at the beginning of the project and bring you to the airport on the way back. It is your responsibility to get to the airport and back home in your home country.

5. ТРЕНИНГ ПО ЭКСПОРТНОМУ ПАРТНЕРСТВУ, РЕГИОНАЛЬНЫЙ ПРОЕКТ USAID ПО ЛИБЕРАЛИЗАЦИИ ТОРГОВЛИ И ТАМОЖЕННОЙ РЕФОРМЕ (RTLC), Г. АЛМАТА, КАЗАХСТАН
Уважаемые Дамы и Господа,
Региональный проект USAID по либерализации торговли и таможенной реформе (RTLC) реализует интенсивную программу повышения экспортного потенциала для ассоциаций и предприятий, нацеленную на активизацию экспортных операций компании, путем обучения сотрудников и практического стимулирования экспорта. Основная группа в составе 60 специалистов из бизнес-ассоциаций и предприятий будет отобрана для тренинга, который включает рассмотрение следующих вопросов:
· Международная деловая практика
· Региональная деловая практика
· Управление логистикой
· Маркетинг и продвижение
· Отстаивание позиций ассоциации
Более того, мы окажем содействие ограниченному количеству компаний в продвижении и экспорте их продукции на рынки других стран через создание так называемых «экспортных партнерств». Этим компаниям будет оказана непосредственная помощь и поддержка менеджером по вопросам экспорта от проекта RTLC.
Тренинг будет проходить в пятизвездочном отеле г. Алматы, Казахстан. Все финансовые расходы (транспорт, проживание, питание) покрывает ЮСАИД (USAID).

The USAID Regional Trade Liberalization and Customs Project (RTLC) introduces an intensive program for businesses and business associations to strengthen export operations through practical export promotion and training. A Core group of 60 professionals from businesses and business associations will be selected to be trained on:
· International Business Practices;
· Regional Business Practices;
· Logistics Management;
· Marketing and Promotion;
· Advocacy for Associations.
Additionally, we will help a limited number of companies to promote and export their products to other countries by forming so called “Export Partnership” groups. These companies will receive direct assistance and support from a professional Export Manager provided by the RTLC.
Training will be held at Five Star Hotel in Almaty, Kazakhstan. All expenses (transportation, accommodation, meal) will be covered by USAID.

TITLE: Educational Program Officer
REPORTS TO: Country DirectorPOSITION LOCATION: Bishkek, KyrgyzstanTERMS OF CONTRACT: Full-time position (40 hours/week).

IREX is an international nonprofit organization providing leadership and innovative programs to improve the quality of education, strengthen independent media, and foster pluralistic civil society development. IREX and its partner IREX Europe deliver cross-cutting programs and consulting expertise in more than 100 countries.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Program Officer is a key member of the Educational Programs Division. The Program Officer is chiefly repsonsible for the implementation of the Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program, the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) as well as oversight of the Program Coordinator and his/her programming and provides support to alumni through a variety of grant mechanisms and visiting US scholars and fellows.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Project Management:
· Represents IREX EPD at all official functions and to the main donor, the Public Affairs Office at the US Embassy;
· Ensures financial integrity of all EPD financial reporting;
· Ensures effective implementation of all EPD programs, following IREX/DC policies and programmatic guidance;
· Provides supervisory oversight to at least one EPD Program Coordinator;
· Communicates effectively with IREX/DC and other IREX Field Offices; provides requested data, reports, and/or information by deadline;
· Identifies new business opportunities and communicates these possibilities to IREX/DC;
· Uses creativity and initiative to ensure the programmatic activities are appropriate to country-specific needs and situation while remaining in line with IREX/DC program guidelines and priorities.
Recruitment Activities: (note that recruitment is a year-round activity)
· Coordinates and implements all aspects of recruitment of all programs including, but not limited to: promotion of exchange programs, sets up meetings, distribution of program information;
· Delivers informational lectures throughout Tajikistan outlining how to apply for programs, program requirements and deadlines;
· Conducts consultations for perspective students/teachers for the programs;
· Maintains database applications;
Selection Activities:
· Assists in identifying and establishing selection committees including contracts, confidentiality agreements and payment information;
· Corresponds with candidates during all phases of the selection process;
· Coordinates exams and interviews for semi finalists;
· Arranges travel, visa and program inquiries for semi finalists.
Pre-Departure Activities:
· Organizes and manages orientations and workshops;
· Arranges travel and visa logistics for finalists.
Alumni Programming:
· Creates and manages alumni programming and tracking;
· Maintains a strong network of alumni and appropriate support.
Grant/Scholar Management:
· Coordinates scholar and fellow programs.
Additional Duties:
· Answers written and telephone inquiries about the programs throughout the year;
· Develops program reports;
· Assists with document preparation for visiting guests, EPD staff and IREX grant recipients;
· Ensures that all program data (hard-copy and electronic) is maintained appropriately;
· Implements other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- Preferably alumni of a US government-sponsored exchange program;
- Previous study experience abroad or experience working in a Western organization, preferably an NGO;
- Fluency in English; Kyrgyz and Russian
- Strong computer (MS Word, Excel, Web 2.0) and writing skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, networking, and communication skills;
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and work under time pressure.
