East-West
Management Institute invites applications for a number of positions as part of
a proposal for an upcoming five-year USAID-funded Kyrgyzstan Collaborative
Governance program that will work to foster effective collaboration between
civil society and Government of Kyrgyzstan to deliver services, resulting in a
more responsive and accountable government and credible, sustainable civil
society. These are long-term positions and offer generous benefits packages.
The assignments are expected to start in early September 2012.
DEPUTY CHIEF OF PARTY
Position Summary:
Deputy Chief of Party will assist
the Chief of Party with implementing Kyrgyzstan Collaborative Governance
Program.
Qualifications Requirements:
●
Minimum of 6 years’ direct
management experience implementing governance and civil society programs;
●
Demonstrated success managing and
leading technical and administrative teams for USAID funded projects;
●
Advanced degree in Social
Sciences, International Development, Law, Economics or related field;
●
Technical experience in areas such
as civil society, capacity building, governance, civic advocacy and
government accountability;
●
Organizational wisdom and cultural
sensitivity;
●
Demonstrated exemplary
communication and interpersonal skills;
●
Familiarity with USAID's
reporting, procurement, and project management policies and procedures;
●
Excellent team building and
interpersonal skills;
●
Excellent oral and written
communication skills in Kyrgyz and Russian.
●
Excellent oral and written
communication skills in English.

GOVERNMENT LIASION ADVISOR
Summary of Position
Government Liasion Advisor will serve as facilitator between
Government of Kyrgyzstan and local civil society organizations for Kyrgyzstan
Collaborative Governance program.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
●
Five (5) or more years of work
experience in facilitating cooperation between development programs and
Government of Kyrgyzstan at the central and local level;
●
Good understanding of Government of
Kyrgyzstan’s institutions and civil society programs;
●
Good understanding of civil society
and community development initiatives in Kyrgyzstan;
●
Experience with working with international
donors, preferably USAID;
●
Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills;
●
Ability to work independently
without supervision and as a team player;
●
Fluent in written and spoken Kyrgyz
and Russian and languages;
●

Summary of Position
Capacity Development Manager will work on enhancing the
capacity and professionalism of Kyrgyz civil society for Kyrgyzstan
Collaborative Governance program. He/she will work with local established and
emerging civil society organizations, organizing mobile capacity building
events designed to address fundamental skills.
Desired Skills and Qualifications

Five (5) or more years of work
experience working on capacity building with civil society organizations in
Kyrgyzstan;
●
Good understanding of civil society
and community development initiatives in Kyrgyzstan;
●
Experience working with
international donors, preferably USAID;

Governance program.
Desired Skills and Qualifications

Five (5) or more years of work
experience working in the field of intersection of education and civil society;
●
Experience designing educational
curriculum courses for non-governmental sector;
●
Experience working with the Ministry
of Education of Kyrgyzstan;
●
Good understanding of civil society
of Kyrgyzstan;
●
Experience working with
international donors, preferably USAID;
●
Excellent organizational and
management skills;
●
Excellent communication and

with mainstreaming gender issues into civil society and other programs;
●
Thorough knowledge and understanding
of gender issues, including gender equality and women empowerment in
Kyrgyzstan;
●
Good understanding of civil society
of Kyrgyzstan;
●
Experience working with
international donors, preferably USAID;
●
Excellent organizational and
management skills;
●
Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills;
●
Ability to work independently

Ability to supervise and provide
assistance to sub-grantees;

in design, monitoring and evaluation methodologies; field-based data collection
and analysis experience;

Experience coordinating M&E for
civil society projects;
●
Knowledge and understanding of civil
society of Kyrgyzstan;
●
Experience working with international

●
Excellent organizational and
management skills;
●
Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills;
●
